Saturday evening at Macon Speedway saw 23 drivers sign in for the night’s action with the Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series. Three heat races were ran first, which saw Kyle Schuett score the victory in heat one, with Zach Daum the victor of the second heat race after starting eighth, and lastly, Terry Babb – no stranger to Victory Lane at Macon Speedway with the MOWA Sprints, picking up the win in the third and final heat race.

22 of the 23 scheduled starters made the call to push off for the A-Main with Korey Weyant and Zach Daum at the front of the field. Weyant jumped to the early lead over Daum but was unable to fight back multiple challenges from the Matt McGarry #31 machine. Daum muscled his way around the 1/5-mile bullring, through lapped traffic to strengthen his lead over Weyant. Fourth starting Kameron Key and sixth starting Terry Babb were running in third and fourth consecutively, as Babb gave it all he had to track down Key’s #21X. As the laps wound down, Key was gaining ground on Daum, but was just short of scoring his first MOWA Sprint Car Series victory. As the checkered fell over the field, Pocahontas, Illinois’ Zach Daum picked up the win, recording his second career feature victory with the MOWA Sprints, while Kameron Key finished second, and defending race winner Terry Babb finishing third. Dustin Barks and polesitter Korey Weyant rounded out the top five.

The Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series returns to action next Friday, July 24 at the Jacksonville Speedway, in Jacksonville, Illinois.
