February 1, 2019 - Mother Nature didnt want to cooperate Friday night with the first big night of speedweeks for Late Model and Modifieds. At Golden Isle Speedway things got started off with Hudson O'Neal breaking the track record with a lap of 14.864 seconds. Hudson would go on to win his heat race. Other heat race winners on opening night of Lucas Oil Series action were Earl Pearson Jr., Josh Richards & Tyler Erb. B-Main number one went to Jason Jameson before the rain came and washed out the rest of the program. The remainder of Friday nights program will take place on Saturday around noon and then the Saturday night program will go on as scheduled.
Friday night kicked off action at North Florida Speedway for the UMP Modifieds. Zeke McKenzie set overall quick time with a lap of 18.980 seconds. Curt Myers, Zeke McKenzie, Maverick Varnadore & Will Krup were heat race winners but then the rains came and the feature event was postponed. We have not heard details on make up but night 2 is scheduled Saturday night at North Florida Speedway.
Mother Nature has set up an action packed day for Saturday in the Dirt Racing World with the rain. The Crate Late Models will be in action again at East Bay Raceway Park and the ASCoC Sprint Cars will be in action once again at Bubba Raceway Park. Stay tuned to RPM website and social media pages for all the news out of 2019 Speedweeks.
