Showers and thunderstorms dumped substantial amounts of rain on Elizabeth City’s three-eighths mile motor speedway on Friday, forcing officials to cancel what was scheduled to be the seventh race of the season on Biggs Cadillac Buick GMC night. A new date for the special 40-lap Rapid Ron’s Racing Sportsman event that was slotted to take place will be announced soon.

Racing resumes on Friday, July 12th on J2 Race Engines night with a special 40-lap Little Caesars Super Streets event with $500 being awarded for first place. Additionally, the Budweiser Allstar Late Models, Rapid Ron’s Racing Sportsman and Biggs Cadillac Buick GMC Stock Fours will compete.
